‘We are all celebrities’ brings to the fore some of Nature’s much loved and rarest animals including those threatened with extinction.

The artist betrays his emotion as the expression of these animals are vividly seen. The drawings through human celebrities point to one important message – we all matter on this planet, we are interconnected and we are ALL celebrities..

Alam Channa – Camel

Haji Mohammad Alam Channa (1953-1998) was a Pakistani farmer and who according to the Guinness Book of World Records, has been the tallest living man in the world. At the time of his death in 1998, he was reported to be 7.7 feet tall.

Camel – Camelus dromedarius

A camel is an even-toed ungulate that bears distinctive fatty deposits known as “humps” on its back. Camels have long been domesticated and, as livestock, they provide food (milk and meat) and textiles (fibre and felt from hair).

Bob Marley - Wilderbeest

Robert Nesta Marley aka Bob Marley (1945-1981), was a Jamaican singer, songwriter, and musician. Considered one of the pioneers of reggae, his musical career was marked by fusing elements of reggae, ska, and rocksteady, as well as his distinctive vocal and song writing style.

Blue Wildebeest – Connochaetes taurinus

The blue wildebeest, also called the common wildebeest, white-bearded wildebeest or brindled gnu, is a large antelope and one of the two species of wildebeest. It is closely related to the black wildebeest

Brian Shaw - Grizzly bear

Brian Shaw (1982 -) aka American Strongman, is America’s professional strongman competitor and is the winner of the 2011, 2013, 2015, and 2016 World’s Strongest Man competitions. In 2011, he became the first man to win the Arnold Strongman Classic and the World’s Strongest Man contests in the same calendar year, a feat he replicated in 2015.

Grizzly bear – Ursus arctos horribilis

The Grizzly is also known as the North American Brown bear and they are protected by Law, except in Alaska. These beautiful animals remain the iconic resident of the Yellowstone National Park. Previously threatened to extinction, the Grizzly remains a symbol of conservation success.

Dalip Singh - Asian Rhino

Dalip Singh Rana is an Indian American professional wrestler, wrestling promoter, and actor. He is best known for his time in WWE under the ring name The Great Khali. He made his professional wrestling debut in 2000. Before embarking on his professional wrestling career, he was an officer for the Punjab Police, India.

Indian Rhinoceros – Rhinoceros unicornis

The Indian rhinoceros, or great Indian rhinoceros, is a rhinoceros species native to the Indian subcontinent. It is listed as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List, as populations are fragmented and restricted to less than 20,000 km².

Dilraba Dilmurat - Snow Leopard

Dilraba Dilmurat (1992 -) is a Chinese actress, singer and model of Uyghur ethnicity. Listed several times in Forbes China Celebrity List, she is considered to be China’s most beautiful actress.

Snow leopard – Panthera uncia

The snow leopard was considered to be a large cat native to the mountain ranges of Central and South Asia. It is now listed as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List. Global population estimated to be less than 10,000 mature individuals and is expected to decline further by 2040.

Elvis Presley – Lion

Elvis Aaron Presley aka Elvis (1935 – 1977) was an American singer, musician and actor. He is still regarded, as one of the most significant cultural icons of the 20th century. He is often referred to as the “King of Rock and Roll“

Sir Mohamed Muktar Jama Farah aka Mo Farah (1983 -) is a British long distance runner and the most successful British track athlete in modern Olympic Games history. He has been the 2012 and 2016 Olympic gold medalist in both 5000 and 10,000 m.

The CheetahAcinonyx jubatus

Native to African and Central Iran, the cheetah is a large cat Iran and is the fastest land animal. It is estimated to be capable of running at 80 to 128 km/h with the fastest reliably recorded speeds being 93 and 98 km/h. 

Gabriel Estêvão Monjane - African giraffe

Gustavo Monjana (1944-1990) is one of 20 individuals in medical history to have reached a height of 244cm or more. He was born in Manjacaze, Gaza Province in Mozambique. He had abnormal growth, attributed largely to an overactive pituitary, soon after birth.

African Giraffe – Giraffa camelopardalis

The Giraffe is the tallest living terrestrial animal and the largest ruminant. It is traditionally considered to be one species but with nine subspecies.

George Moustaki – Lion

George Moustaki (1934-2013) was an Egyptian-French singer-songwriter of Jewish Italo-Greek origin. He was best known for the poetic rhythm and simplicity of the romantic songs he composed and often sang.

Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta (1986 -) aka Lady Gaga is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. She is known for her image reinventions and musical   versatility. Gaga     began performing as a teenager and she was selected to sign at the inauguration of the 46th President of the USA in 2021.

Wolf – Canis lupus

The wolf or grey wolf is a large canine native to Eurasia and North America. Wolves have a long history of interactions with humans, having been despised and hunted in most pastoral communities because of their attacks on livestock, while conversely being respected in some agrarian and hunter-gatherer societies. It is considered to be the ancestor of most domestic dog breeds.

Edith Piaf – Fox

Édith Piaf (1915-1963) nee Édith Giovanna Gassion, was a French singer-songwriter, cabaret performer and film actress. She was very petite in size. She was noted as France’s national chanteuse and one of the country’s most widely known international stars. Piaf’s music was often autobiographical and she specialized in chanson and torch ballads about love, loss and sorrow.

Fox – Vulpes vulpes

Foxes are small to medium-sized, omnivorous mammals. The animal is characterised by its long and bushy tail. Its widespread distribution has made it harvestable for the fur trade.

Thomas De Carlo Callaway (1975-), better known by his stage name CeeLo Green, is an American singer-songwriter, rapper, record producer, and businessman. He is known for his work in soul music.

Hippopotamus – Hippopotamus amphibius

The hippopotamus, also called the hippo or river hippopotamus, is a large, mostly herbivorous, semiaquatic mammal and ungulate native to sub-Saharan Africa. It is one of only two extant species in the family Hippopotamidae, the other being the pygmy hippopotamus.

Gustavo Badell – Panthera

Gustavo Badell aka Freakin ‘Rican” (1972 -) was born in Venezuela. He is an International Federation of BodyBuilders professional bodybuilder.

The Jaguar – Panthera onca

This compact and well-muscled cat is native to the Americas and is the third largest in the world, exceeded in size only by the tiger and the lion. Its coat ranges from pale yellow to tan or reddish-yellow while the ventral areas are whitish. IUCN classified it as “Near Threatened”

Colonel Gaddafi - Lion

Muammar Muhammad Abu Minyar al-Gaddafi, (1942 – 2011) commonly known as Colonel Gaddafi, was a Libyan revolutionary, politician and political theorist. He was assassinated in Sirte in 2011.

King Felipe VI - Lion

Felipe VI or Philip VI (1968 -) is the King of Spain. He ascended the throne on 19 June 2014 upon the abdication of his father, Juan Carlos I. His mother is Queen Sofía, and he has two elder sisters, Infanta Elena, Duchess of Lugo, and Infanta Cristina.

Nikolai Sergeyevich Valuev – Polar Bear

Nikolai Sergeyevich Valuev (1973 -) is a Russian politician and former professional boxer. He competed in boxing from 1993 to 2009, and held the WBA heavyweight title twice between 2005 and 2009.

Polar Bear – Ursus maritimus

The polar bear is a hypercarnivorous bear whose native range lies largely within the Arctic Circle, encompassing the Arctic Ocean, its surrounding seas and land masses. It is the largest extant bear species, as well as the largest extant land carnivore. With its decreasing population, the IUCN now lists it as Vulnerable.

Peter the Great - Tiger

Peter the Great (1672-1725) ruled the Tsardom of Russia and later the Russian Empire until his death in 1725. He is credited for expanding the Tsardom into a much larger empire which became a major European power. Peter’s reforms had a lasting impact on Russia, and many institutions of the Russian government trace their origins to his reign. He founded the city of Saint Petersburg, which remained the capital of Russia until 1917.

Asian Tiger – Panthera tigris

The tiger is the largest living cat species and a member of the genus Panthera. It is most recognisable for its dark vertical stripes on orange-brown fur with a lighter underside. It is an apex predator, primarily preying on ungulates such as deer and wild boar. IUCN classifies it as an Endangered species.

Pierre Bachelet – Wolf

Pierre Bachelet (1944-2005) was a French singer-songwriter, originating from the northern parts of France. One of his songs ‘Corons’ speak to the lives of miners and it became a massive success.

NebuchadnezzarII, also NebuchadrezzarII (627 562BC), King of Babylon c.605BC–c.562BC, was the longest-reigning and most powerful monarch of the NeoBabylonian Empire. His father Nabopolassar was an official of the Neo-Assyrian Empire who rebelled in 626BC and established himself as the king of Babylon.
